How your address is handled
Last updated 27 July 2026
Short version: one email address, one message, no list, no sharing. The long version follows because you're entitled to it, not because it gets more complicated.
What gets stored
- The email address you type in.
- Which link brought you here — a short tag like
kling-discord, so I know which channel worked. - A two-letter country code, from Cloudflare's edge.
- The date and time you signed up.
Your IP address is not stored. It's hashed with a salt and kept for one hour purely to stop a bot submitting the form a thousand times, then it expires on its own.
What it's used for
One email, when the beta opens. That's the entire purpose. There is no newsletter, no drip sequence, no analytics profile built on top of your address, and nothing is sold, rented or passed to a third party.
Where it lives
In Cloudflare Workers KV, on Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare is the sole processor. If you're in the EEA or the UK, transfers rely on Cloudflare's standard contractual clauses.
Visitor measurement
Page visits are counted in aggregate — no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers. That's why you weren't shown a consent banner: there's nothing to consent to.
How long it's kept
Until the beta invitation goes out, or until you ask for it to be deleted, whichever comes first. If the project is abandoned, the whole store is deleted and you'll be told.
Your rights
Write to hello@looktopus.com and ask for a copy of what's held about you, a correction, or deletion. Deletion is immediate and needs no reason — it's one key in one store. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
Who's responsible
This is a personal pre-commercial project, not a company. The contact for anything on this page is hello@looktopus.com.
